What role do women play in Corporate America today, given the current environment of #Metoo, #Timesup and other women centric movements?
As of lately, women from all backgrounds and careers are using their platforms to speak up, use their voice and inspire other young men and women to follow their dreams, make them a reality and to never give up. It's all possible, we can all be who and what we want to be no matter your religion, race or sex. It's truly inspiring to see this wave of change!
What can women do better to support each other?
I would love to see more women accepting other women. But I think to accept someone else, you must first accept the faults, the insecurities and all of the amazing things within yourself, too. So let's continue the conversation of allowing women to do what they want, wear what they want and say what they want. Do everything with love and to make yourself genuinely happy. Can you imagine a world full of men and women living their absolute BEST LIVES?!
Can you share a quote you often refer to?
"Do good, be great."
What's your favorite podcast or blog?
Oh goodness. There are so many! Lori Harder definitely has a podcast that has me thinking, laughing and taking notes all at the same time. It's called Earn Your Happy. GO LISTEN, NOW!
What's the most embarrassing moment you've experienced in a professional setting?
I can't think of one at the moment.. but whatever it may have been, I always try to laugh it off and be honest with the person.. say if I said their name wrong, or forgot their name entirely, stuttered on a presentation.. just be honest with people, remind them you are human too and move on!
What does success mean to you?
I love this question. My answer has changed over the years but recently, my answer is: to have success, means to have loved. All I want to do in this lifetime is love myself, love my career, love the people around me and have LOVE be my driver. If I can make change, positively impact and be completely myself through love.. I'd say I'm pretty damn successful.
What motivates you?
Oh, everything. I think maybe it's because I'm a Capricorn, haha. Podcasts I listen to, seeing people NOT living their best lives, books I read, negative comments, positive comments, women being un-apologetically themselves. The list goes on!
Name one thing you do constantly that has contributed to your success.
Control my mindset.
Have you ever felt like you couldn't accomplish something, but surprised yourself? If so, please share.
Oh, all the time. But it fear that truly holds us back. Our fear has created this distance and disconnect from our mind and our heart. As long as I remember I create my own reality, I am unstoppable. But I just have to remind myself that at the end of the day, the only battle I'm fighting, is the one within myself.
What's next? Where do you see yourself two or three years from now?
Goodness I love this question, too! Two or three years from now my podcast SHE FEELS CITRINE will be huge. I will be no longer working for a corporate business, I will be working from home because my brand/blog/podcast will be my main source of income and happiness. I will also be modeling full time and traveling with my loved one.
Who is your It Girl of The Week and why?
Ooooo.. has Natasha Baxter been an It Girl, yet? She has some cool things happening for her right now that she's deserved for so long and has finally made them happen!
