If you could have lunch with anyone, who would it be and why?

I would have lunch with Maria Konnikova because she is such a brilliant writer and I love her books! She really immerses herself into the writing process and I'd love to hear about her interesting experiences and writing tips.

Have you ever experienced imposter syndrome? If so, what did you do to overcome it.

I have experienced the imposter syndrome at large international research conferences. I was presenting my work to experts in my field and I felt out of my league. My PhD supervisor introduced me to these experts and after talking them about topics outside of research, I felt a lot better because I realised that they were also really fun, friendly and interesting human beings!

Name one thing you do constantly that has contributed to your success.

I make my bed every morning! It's my first win of the day!

What role do women play in Corporate America today, given the current environment of #Metoo, #Timesup and other women centric movements?

Women play a pivotal role in Corporate America. It's important for us to be treated with equal respect and have room to grow in the workplace.

Have you ever felt like you couldn't accomplish something, but surprised yourself? If so, please share.

During the first year of my PhD, I felt like I couldn't accomplish my project because there was so many new techniques to learn and so much troubleshooting to do. As a result, I didn't get very far in the first 6 months and I thought to myself, if this keeps going on, will I ever finish my PhD? Eventually, I slowly did improve in my techniques and started to get results for my thesis and 4 years later, I finished it!

Can you share a quote you often refer to?

Where you stumble, there lies your treasure. - Joseph Campbell
